Lily Casey was a very likeable character with a unique voice. The writer did an awesome job at bringing her to life. I really got to know her and wish that I could have in real life. Lily was such a strong lady both emotionally and physically and I was so impressed with the way she handled herself in the situations she was in. I had read the Glass Castle a few years ago; I really enjoyed hearing about Rosemary's childhood in this book, I think it helped set the stage for The Glass Castle. I didn't want to put this book down, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I loved this book. I couldn't believe how she set off by herself on horseback for her teaching job. She was so brave.
